What is your submission procedure?
We prefer to work using email. It is best to start by sending us a message briefly describing your project. Tell us what your book is about, what's new, topical or unusual about it, why you decided to write the book, what's special about you as the author, and why your book will stand out once published. Include anything else about yourself or your project that will allow us to make a better decision about your project's publication prospects.
You may also email us a proposal and sample chapter if you think these will give us a better feel for your work – for further information please see 'How do I put together a proposal?' But please do not submit a completed manuscript or original artwork at this stage.
If you must send your materials by post and would like your material returned, then you will need to enclose the relevant postage in the form of either a self-addressed stamped envelope or an international reply coupon along with a suitable envelope. Please do not send cash or blank cheques. If return postage and suitable envelope (preferably self-sealing and padded) are not provided, then the material will be recycled.
It is not necessary to send your material by recorded or registered delivery: to do so can cause delay.
Email your initial query to our info email. In the subject line please include the word 'query' and the name of your project or your name. If you are attaching a file, please name the file with your name (not ours).
If you can't send by email, then please post the material to the address given on our Contact page. There's no need to phone first.
While every care will be taken of your work, we cannot be held responsible for the loss of or damage to any typescripts, artwork or electronic media submitted to us. You should therefore keep the original and send a copy.
Owing to the large amount of submissions that we receive, we regret that we are unable to log or acknowledge receipt of submissions that arrive at our office.
