Our Mission

‘The important thing is not to stop questioning.
Curiosity has its own reason for existing’.
— Albert Einstein

When we launched the agency as The Science Factory in 2008, this observation was at the front of our minds. Our founding mission remains unchanged: as Curious Minds, we still believe that knowledge about the world should be shared with readers around the world. In service of that mission, we represent authors writing about the sciences, as well as mathematics, natural history, philosophy, health and medicine, technology, history and many other areas of nonfiction.

We work with publishers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and in translation markets around the globe to ensure our authors' ideas have the broadest impact possible. With agents in London, Hamburg, and the United States, we have a robust international presence, and we attend the two largest book fairs in the world – in Frankfurt and London – every year.

As former book editors we know what publishers are looking for in a proposal, and we have insider knowledge of the editorial and publishing processes that follow on from a book deal. We take an active editorial role in helping our authors to conceive the right project and craft the strongest possible proposal, and we remain by their side throughout the entire publication and launch timeline. We love working with academics who want to bring their ideas and research to a general audience, expert journalists with a new angle on their beat, and writers of brilliant prose who shine a light on how the world works.

Curious Minds is a literary agency for professionally curious people – for authors who open our eyes to new perspectives, who reveal hidden knowledge about the world, and who believe in curiosity for its own sake.
